COLUMN PROTECTORS
These impact defences are designed to help protect load bearing columns and the structural integrity of factories and warehouses from the effects of vehicle or forklift truck impact. Obviously such repairs are extremely expensive to complete... but far more serious would be potential structural collapse.

Advanced Safety Barriers supply the high-reputation A-Safe column protectors which have many advantages. These column protectors can be installed very quickly and simply and provide effective impact protection. They are very carefully designed and manufactured to absorb or severely reduce the damage and effects of impacts from vehicles and forklift trucks before the destructive energy is transmitted to the column, thereby providing significant protection for the column itself as well as to the vehicle and the vehicle driver and passengers. These A-Safe column protectors are suitable for square, circular or H section columns up to 310mm.
A summary of the key features of the A-Safe Column Protectors supplied by Advanced Safety Barriers is detailed below;
- Air pressure release for impact absorption and cushioning

- Little or no maintenance
MICRO BARRIERS
To help avoid low level energy impact damage and unsightly scrapes caused by manually operated devices such as hand pallet trucks, trolleys and wheelchairs on surfaces such as corridor walls, building structure walls or stored materials and other equipment or machinery, Advanced Safety Barriers recommends A-Safe Micro Barriers. Another advantage of these barriers is to help prevent a health hazard in hygenic areas.
A-Safe Micro Barriers are also designed for to help define and protect pedestrian walkways.

HEIGHT RESTRICTORS
Do not make an overhead oversight as high vehicles or vehicles carrying high loads can cause an immense and costly amount of damage to overhead pipes, ducts, cables, air or gas supply lines. To help prevent such dangerous incidents, Advanced Safety Barriers can supply the excellent A-Safe height restrictors. Their function is two-fold, they not only provide overhead impact protection but can also warn the driver or operator of a vehicle that his vehicle or load are too high.
RACK PROTECTORS
Current health and safety guidelines state that the minimum requirements for the protection of racking system uprights should be an upright protector of a height not less than 400mm at the end upright of each run of racking between cross-aisles and also at uprights positioned at all aisle and gangway intersections. A-Safe rack protectors Advanced Safety Barriers provide an innovative solution to meet these requirements. Manufactured from advanced thermoplastic material the design incorporates energy absorption features that allow the rack protector to deform under impact conditions to resist and absorb the impact force returning to its’ original shape after impact, the protectors are simply clipped on to racking uprights. The rack protectors are flexible enough to accommodate everyday knocks and bumps yet robust enough to withstand substantial forklift impacts.
A summary of the key features of the A-Safe Rack Protectors supplied by Advanced Safety Barriers is detailed below;
- Available for a range of column sizes and specifications
- Easy installation. Clip on fitting, no separate fasteners required
- Effective in temperatures down to –40°C
- Supplied in recognised safety colours, black and yellow
- Passes frontal and side impact test for European Code FEM 10.2.02
- Low purchase and replacement costs
KICK PLATES
Machinery, such as FLT forks or hand pallet trucks, passing under the lower barrier rail can cause damage to walls, structures, equipment and materials. When a barrier is installed along a raised edge, such as a mezzanine floor or loading bay, items like work tools, portable equipment or boxed goods falling over the edge can represent a hazard to people and vehicles below. Fitting a kick plate between barrier posts prevents either of these situations occurring. The kick plates stop items passing under the lower barrier rail so damage is not caused and falling from height hazards do not occur. The kick plate extends to a height of 235mm above the surface to which the barrier is mounted. Please note that kick plates cannot be retrofitted to existing Pedestrian Barrier sections.
Compatible with A-Safe Pedestrian Barrier and Handrail Systems;
- To prevent low level access under a barrier for protection of walls, structures and equipment
- To prevent items falling from height when a barrier is installed along a raised edge
SAFETY MATTING
Working, or moving around, for long periods on a concrete surface can be very wearing on the bodies’ weight bearing joints. In the event of a slip, trip or fall it can also be very painful and potentially cause serious injury. A-Safe safety matting provides a soft, smooth comfortable surface for people working in an industrial environment, for example, operating equipment or working on a production line. Its’ non-slip surface prevents or reduces the risk of slips. The safety mattings' can be supplied in varying thicknesses having shock absorbing properties providing impact protection for critical fall heights from 1.0m to 3.0m.
A summary of the key features of the A-Safe Safety Matting supplied by Advanced Safety Barriers is detailed below;
- Provides a non-slip surface working surface
- Cushions impact of falling objects, personnel or equipment
- Assembled from lock together tiles to provide coverage over a required work area
- Tiles available in 0.5m2 squares
- Tiles available in yellow and black to provide a chequered pattern when assembled for high visibility and potential hazard indication
- Sloped edge tiles available to remove trip hazards at matting edges and allow access of wheeled equipment
